About

We are living in an age of austerity (in case you didn’t know).

I started this blog earlier this year to share my making and upcycling schemes.

At the beginning of the year I told all our friends and family that we would not be buying birthday or Christmas gifts for at least 12 months.

I did warn that homemade gifts may be given. And That is what I have been doing amongst other things.

Making gifts does mean that alot more thought and planning needs to go into what you give people and there are varying degrees of success.

I love to have a go at making and upcycling, but what I don’t love is how expensive it can be to buy the stuff, such as fabric and other bits and bobs so I try to buy secondhand as much as possible or raid my own cupboards to see what might be knocking around.

Make, thrift, upcycle. Learn something as often as possible. Never spend more than I have to
