The Wolverton Scarecrow Festival 2013

23 Sep

Every year our town has a scarecrow festival.

Our house is on the route and every year I think we should get involved. Somehow I just never quite get around to it.

This year I finally got on and made a scarecrow, popped it in the front garden and ambled along to the meeting point to do the walk.

I was amazed at the time, creativity and effort that went into making many of the scarecrows.

Many chose to highlight current affairs and raise awareness of some serious issues such as-

The Drinking Culture

080

Crime and punishment

077

Dysfunctional Families

048

The Environment

055

Others chose to cover literature and pop culture-

061

The Twits

070

Gangnam Style!

072

There was even a Royal baby.

059

The standard was high. My cursory attempt will have to do for this year.

088

I will have to start planning next years Scarecrow
