Cheap and Very Yummy Chocolate Cookies

The Bo had a teacher training day today and it is not often just he and I get to spend some quality time together. So I thought we would make something together.

The Bo loves, loves, LOVES! Nutella. But I recently found that Tesco’s does its own version which is of course quite a bit cheaper. I bought some fully expecting the Bo to turn his nose up at it. He loves it. So I thought I’d have a go at making some cookies with this chocolatey, hazelnutty delight.

This recipe is really quick and costs a few pennies to make. You could add in any extra’s you like. I threw in a handful of chocolate chips for good measure but chopped nuts would give a lovely crunch to your cookies.

All you need is-

180g hazelnut chocolate spread
150g plain flour
1 large egg beaten

Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees c. Put all your ingredients into a mixing bowl and blend to together with a fork until all the flour is has disapeared and you have a nice chocolatey dough. Throw in any extra’s you fancy now.

Roll the dough into ping-pong ball size cookies and place onto a lined baking tray. They don’t spread much in the oven so you can afford to put them fairly close together on the tray. Push them down with a fork or your fingers and pop in the oven for 8 mins. When you have taken them out of the oven leave them on the tray for 10 mins or so to let them set before attempting to put them on a wire rack.

The Bo really enjoyed helping make these thrifty little cookies. I think he will enjoy helping me eat them even more!!
